Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Unless you go to Scar.

Haha!

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Apr 16, 2014, 4:40 PM

If the reverse happened, I don't think Dabo would take a kid from Carolina who flamed out at Clemson like Chad did. I don't think either school would do that. Just sayin.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

But spurrier will take someone who "flames" out of his own

Apr 16, 2014, 8:02 PM

Apr 17, 2014, 8:21 AM [ in reply to Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed. ]

Dabo wouldn't, but he is so different from spurlid in the character arena. There is no comparison. And, yes, I know spurlid has won a few games in a row. So what? It's doubtful any of us on here will live long enough to see scu even the series.

Re:What makes you think that he would want to play for

Apr 16, 2014, 4:41 PM

Well, in case you haven't noticed, in college football the coach recruits the kid, not the other way around.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re:What makes you think that he would want to play for

Apr 16, 2014, 4:43 PM

Case in point, U of Miami, Jim Kelly's alma mater wouldn't touch Chad because of his rep, and I'm sure Jim wanted him to go there.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Apr 16, 2014, 6:20 PM [ in reply to Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed. ]

Hey forcertain, you obviously live in a hole! ANY kid that spurrier thinks may have potential, he will take no matter what kind of head case or disciplinary he is. He has no morals or care for his playas. Breaking #### records and winning are his only concerns.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Apr 16, 2014, 6:51 PM

Sorry. I don't think either Spurrier or Dabo would take a player off their chief rival's team in a case similar to that of Chad Kelly. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Apr 16, 2014, 7:06 PM

Wouldn't we all just live to know what happens with him and dabo ?

To mention that specifically means something crazy happened. Dabo is great but is not kicking anyone off the team for a heated yap fest with coaches during a spring game or some incident with a shouting match with former miss sc

Keep in mind joe Craig he and his girl went to the hospital with stitches and an acceptance that he hit her with a towel rod and she cut him with a razor blade. Not kicked off. A bit more worrisome than yapping with coaches or backing into someone's car.

He mentions dabo situation in letter. I think a family member who is embarrassed by a phone call from dabo explaining what really happened in the office knows the whole story and wrote a letter for swag.

Who really ever knows unless they were there

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Apr 16, 2014, 10:21 PM

Apparently you don't know too much about Clemson..... What Craig did was during track season. There were other issues leading up to it that the Track coach at the time didn't let Dabo know about.

That is why you didn't have anymore football players running track after that.

Good question. I think he's out of chances, though. I have a hard time believing that this was strike one for him.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

VERY highly doubtful. Based on Dabo's track record...

Apr 16, 2014, 4:30 PM [ in reply to Re: FB Update: Chad Kelly apologizes for behavior that led to dismissal ]

Suspension is suspension and dismissal is dismissal. The end. Wish him the best in the future.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Best I could imagine is to walk on

Apr 16, 2014, 4:31 PM [ in reply to Re: FB Update: Chad Kelly apologizes for behavior that led to dismissal ]

I think his scholarship is gone and would have to be earned back, if at all.

He probably has better chances elsewhere. I can't imagine Swinney dropped the boom. The odds are better that he was given nearly every chance to avoid dismissal and just kept pushing it so there was no choice. Hard for a coach to reverse himself if so.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe I'm just being too adamant

Apr 16, 2014, 4:29 PM

But this would feel a lot more earnest to me if he came from him and not a third party. Especially a third party that has no real tie to him or the school.

But I certainly wish him a full recovery from the mistakes and a bright future! Just sorry it wasn't in orange......well, Clemson orange. Could another orange be in his future??

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Maybe I'm just being too adamant

Apr 16, 2014, 4:32 PM

Chad's statement came from one of his uncles, Dan Kelly. The statement was released to the media and a media guy from Syracuse posted it on twitter.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Still a third party to a third party. Kind of smacks of

Apr 16, 2014, 4:43 PM

Re: You did let us down Chad. You could have taken us to the

Apr 16, 2014, 5:33 PM

Chad is a young kid who God gave a tremendous amount of talent to. His enthusiasm just gets the best of him. He needs to learn to control that and he will. I support Dabo in his decision. It sends a message to the others on the team that he won't have this type of behavior, no matter how good you are. I REALLY like that. Chad will move on, no doubt. It is never easy to say "I'm sorry", especially for a young kid. I wish him well. Stout is solid, both on and off the field, and we need that consistency. I like where Clemson is headed!
