I know they are going to be evaluated to death but it looks to me like the length would not work well. I think this would hinder lateral movement and sort of lock a players hips. Might not be as important in OG's or DT's but for corners especially, OLB's, and RB's I think they would have adverse effects.

On another note,I was thinking about all of the concussions,stingers in the neck, and the ever present turds that like to hit guys with the crown of their helmet under the face mask of the opponent and then upon contact drive their head upward (J. Clowney's hit against Michigan comes to mind) When and why did players on all levels stop wearing neck rolls? Seems to me that they would be a benefit to the players on all levels.
