He should have Stayed Another Year......

Mar 18, 2014, 10:53 AM

I really hope this kid makes it but I am afraid he may not get the change to reach his potential if he gets picked by the wrong organization..

begin with. I know I have read that it was as much of an academic decision as a financial one, though the finances played into it quite a bit.

2 children. But you are exactly right I don't understand how

Mar 18, 2014, 11:56 AM [ in reply to He has a child and a family he feels compelled to support ]

people can sit there for a second and say that if they were in his shoes they would have came back. That's preposterous, I love clemson as much as anyone and I'm sure martavis would love to be able to come back a year but to put yourself under that incredible amount of stress for another year when you have a great chance at going relatively high in the nfl draft would be a pretty stupid choice. I wish he was coming back but I can say without a doubt martavis bryant made the correct decision and I for one can't wait to watch him and sammy year it up on Sundays.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Impossible to say at this point if he made the correct

decision but we will know soon enough. There is no doubt had he stayed another year as the go to receiver he could've really improved his position in the draft big time. However, had he stayed and suffered a severe injury then.... tough to say.
However having that degree would really help secure his position as a long term provider for his family.

Proud of him for putting his family first as it should be.

Hopefully he will have a great pro career.

And that is if even he gets picked this year. He may have to work out with one of those pro prep WR trainers for a year before he ever sets foot in the NFL. Like many, many of us were hoping that he didn't let his friends and family members influence him into leaving early. But that is what he was wanting them to do b/c he was wanting to leave early as it was. And he was asking people that has never played a down of FB, and people that don't have even one clue of what it takes to play NFL FB. They wanted that money as bad as he did, and he let them help him make the decision he wanted to make any way. He does have the talent, but he will maybe have to spend money I'm betting will make his needs even worse than they were, just to get a chance in the NFL. He will get there I think but, I hope he has learned a very valuable lesson. Good things come to those that have the will to wait.

Where are you coming up with this stuff?

Mar 18, 2014, 6:03 PM [ in reply to Re: He should have Stayed Another Year...... ]

He was a projected 3rd rounder coming out, and he has improved his draft stock.

He couldn't have timed it better. He can go to the Carolina Panthers as a franchise player, spot receiver, slot receiver, 1st stringer, 2nd stringer, etc. Pick your choice, because they don't have any. Along with a few other squads whom have dismantle their team.

ummm... D-Ham got drafted in the third round and made more money in 3 years than you will in 25.

Re: Martavis Bryant = D. Ham? I hope not *

Mar 19, 2014, 12:05 AM

ummm... there's millions of people that have more worth after 25 years than the guys that made a million in 3 years.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And there's hundreds of millions who don't.
