Brownell talks to ACC about end of Pitt game

There we go Brownell!

Show those officials that we won't just stand by and let them cheat us out!

Good. It needs to be addressed.

Good for him

Another issue for me was why a technical foul was never called on the Pitt coach...

"It is not part of a true culture to tame tigers, any more than it is to make sheep ferocious."
--Henry David Thoreau

Now THAT would be a judgment call...

Unlike the red light on the backboard, which cannot be explained away.

Agreed, but the lack of judgment is the issue

That coach was 10 feet out on the court at times, not to mention all of the other issues he had.

"It is not part of a true culture to tame tigers, any more than it is to make sheep ferocious."
--Henry David Thoreau

What happened with the coach?

I missed it

What is there to address? NCAA rules say they are wrong

Show the film
Say Rule 2, Section 10, Articles 14 and 15.... "Indicate with the red light or LED lights the expiration of playing time in each half or extra period. This signal shall terminate player activity."

Also, Rule 5, Section 7, Art. 2.
"Each period shall end when the red light or LED lights have become activated.
a. In games with a 10th-of-a-second game clock display and where an official
courtside monitor is used, the reading of zeros on the game clock is to be used to determine whether a try for goal occurred before or after the expiration of time in any period. When the game clock is not visible, the officials shall verify the original call with the use of the red/LED light(s)."

My understanding is that the officials decided, since the game clock at the other end of the court measured 0.1, they would allow the basket. Yet, that clock was not visible to the player making the shot.

Finally, BB might also want to note Section 12: Section 12, Article 1 (e.), Correctable Errors
1. "The correctable errors are as follows:
e. Erroneously counting or canceling a score"

This is not a judgment call. This falls under correctable error.

Further, under Art. 6.
An appeal for a correctable error may be made by a head coach, table official or game official. This appeal must be honored and reviewed by an official

Is there any chance we will appeal this?***

They can appeal ... but odds are nothing comes of it

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 5:09 PM

We appealed that atrocious Duke game clock crap ... nothing came of it.

Yep unfortunately it's a done deal... It makes me sick every time I think about it.

The ONLY WAY something like this gets overturned by the ACC

[1]
Posted: Mar 10, 2014 5:22 PM

is if a similar call goes gainst Duke or UNC and likely costs them an NCAA Tournament bid.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

absolutely agree!! then swoffie would act!! but U and I know that UNC and Duke will never get in that position!

Please list all the times the ACC office has overturned a decision by the refs.

Specifically I would like a list of the all games since 1953 that the ACC commissioner or office has said the REFS made a mistake and overturned the decision to give Duke or UNC a win

I will save you time.....the ANSWER IS ZERO.

for beginners..

terrier fans is such a small, petty coot...he won't acknowledge being wrong (or being a chickentroll for that matter) anymore than the ACC crew at the Pitt/Clemson game will admit they made a mistake

What I don't understand, is why he'd hide behind a Terrier

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 10:24 PM

handle when he could have posed as a Blue Devil...you know, someone with a winning record over USuCk...

Appeal???? Appeal?????

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 10:29 PM

Did General Short appeal when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor???

BTW L.Jones last seen climbing into a wooden packing crate in an undisclosed hangar location in the vicinity of Roswell, NM. Crate was last occupied by a former AAF B-25 bomber pilot. Machinery inside said crate allegedly thought to be some type of time machine or a rudimentary self-containing environment allowing for the occupant to re-emerge in 40 years as Nipsey Russell.

lol...like the players and team are going to turn around and look at a clock behind them. As I have said before, I don;t believe the other clock was at 0.1. The 2 clocks are synced together. The ref wears a belt pack to start the clock. If the 0.1 was true, then both clocks should be looked at after every close shots at the end of a half. Pretty sure I have never seen that.

I interpret that as if the game clock is not visible

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 6:28 PM

To the official, like during the replay review. Not to the player, during play.

Should have never been in this position, with that

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 5:04 PM

said, it sucks we got suckered out of a win.

I know its extremely frustrating to Brownell!

Which Clemson play in the game made the REFS make the wrong

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 7:58 PM

call?????????

Has anyone tried to email DRad???

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 5:38 PM

He is the AD. He can protest an appeal? Right???

Deer Mr. Brownlee

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 5:56 PM

We have considered your protest. However, after further review we notice that your jersey's do not say either North Carolina or Duke. In light of these facts would you please FOAD and stop bothering us.

Sincerely,
John Swofford

Maybe so, however the ACC certainly has given them favorable treatment with regards to officiating over the years. If you don't believe that then you need someone to pull the wool off your eyes for you.

They get all of the calls DURING the game***

I notice that you are a Wofford fan posting on a Clemson message board. I also notice that you are a total d-bag. Please FOAD and stop bothering us.

Sincerely,
Tigernet

Blessing in disguise? Better match up as 6th seed ...

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 6:10 PM

Might have been subconscious desire on Brownell as that throw-in under Pitt's basket is by far the worst call he has made...GO TIGERS!

Brad, file a temporary restraining order

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 9:20 PM

against the ACC office regarding the call at the end of the game.

That would sure PO a whole lotta people. Seeds might change---you get the idea....

Nah, just send swoffie a rope with garlic, some chicken feet, three chicken heads, two animal skulls on each end of the rope, and glue some bleached red hair on the rope.

Swofford is skeered of voodoo.

I saw where refs stated they go by clock above back board

Posted: Mar 10, 2014 10:34 PM

If that doesn't work, then they use red light, then if that doesn't work, they use buzzer. After watching replay 10 times, looked like he got it off with .01. We screwed ourselves with clock not synced with light. Also not being able to throw ball in
