Hmm. Guess everybody else must be winning 12 or 13 games. Apparently a BCS victory is only a consolation prize for our mediocrity.
(I hate articles like this.)

Clemson has under achieved during the Bowden years. The last five Bowden years Clemson under achieved so badly it still lingers in the minds of we Clemson folk, the media and the other college football fans.
It will take four or five more years to rid ourselves of the stigma of pulling a Clemson. Even after having two good seasons during our rebuilding process the hangover remained and the media continued to remind us by changing the name to '##########.'
You didn't hear much out of them after we stomped the dog shiat out of LSwho and UGAy back to back though!
I'm a little surprised at someone bringing all this up publically after Clemson planted OSUsuck in the OB. The writer need his memory jolted. He seems to have forgotten our two losses last season were to top five teams and we (Clemson) finish the season top ten.

I think the media realizes the money Clemson finally put into facilities and salaries. Tommy recruited with metal lockers from the seventies the entire time he was here. He never had his office in the new facilities.

I've been trying to find the poll that lists us as a top 25 public university, but can't find it. Can you reply with a link? Thanks.

I was looking for a non-USN&WR ranking, as that one opens up the argument of manipulation by President Barker and I'm tired of having that conversation with coot fans.

USN&WR also ranks SCar's undergraduate international business specialty #1 and their international business MBA program as #1, so I'd prefer a different source. Surely if USN&WR has us ranked in the top 25, some other publication must also have us in the top 25. I was just wondering if anyone knew of another rankings source.

Bingo! People forget not only was FSU whipping the ACC during those years, but Florida (yearly SEC Champ) in those days too! Florida would beat all the SEC teams by 30 plus and then FSU would destroy the Gators. Miami was the only team that gave them any trouble back then, and the Canes could have won on Sundays. So really Clemson went about 8 or 9 years not winning the ACC when other conference leaders could have.
