Quick notes on Mel Kiper's Clemson NFL projections

Read Update »

Mel Kiper knows very little in terms of good QBs

A WR can do nothing without a QB throwing them the ball. Funny how most others have Tajh going in the 3rd round or so

Unfortunately, Tajh's stock is not very high at the moment

Personally, I'll be very surprised to see him go in the 3rd Round based on all the negative publicity he's been getting lately. I'm think 4th, 5th, or even the 6th Round right now, but I'm certainly not a draft expert.

Pro teams don't care about publicity or what the media has to say. They have known all along what he has to offer and that won't change between now and the draft. The real question is how much will his intelligence and personality help him when he begins meeting with the teams.

null

Tajh was a great college QB but it did help

having great talent around him and a great system to play in.

His decision making was iffy at times. He will get drafted but it will be 4-7 rounds.

Predicting the draft can be like a crap shoot but he knows

funny how pre combine some guys stock rises and some falls without ever playing a down or eve getting to the combine. Mostly just media manipulation

Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round...

not the end of the world to be drafted later. By the way Mel Kiper thought Jimmy Clausen would be a good NFL QB

Montana was drafted in the 3rd round, and Unitas was drafted in the 9th round and CUT by the Steelers without ever playing a down before landing in Baltimore.

Sometimes getting drafted late

puts a chip on the players shoulder and they turn out to be one of the greatest to the play the. Boyd should use it as motivation.

I cant see Boyd going higher than the fourth rd

and maybe as low as the sixth. His decision making is being questioned, and rightfully so. When he's on, he's great, but when he's not, he can be terrible. He has always struggled with the intermediate throws as well. Go back and look how few times he'd hit his target, in stride, on the short throws, esp the WR screens. I see him as a career backup, and there's no shame in that. Coming back for his senior season, in hindsight, was a huge mistake financially, for him. Cost him a lot of money. Maybe he can use this as motivation and tear it up at the combine. The combine is where Nuk went from a second rounder to a sure fire first rounder.
