2014 Defense

[1]
Posted: Jan 15, 2014 8:03 PM

The defense has a chance to be really good in 014.
Some folks are somewhat worried about the LINEBACKERS.
But I think they'll be fine....Jones,Steward and Anthony

in some games LBs might be Beasley, Steward and Anthony,

we might see some packages with 3 down linemen and 4LBs
Beasley, Jones, Steward, Anthony.

Is every one forgetting there is a guy who may be the toughest SOB to come to Clemson in a long time. Ben Boulware is gonna be a player in there some where!

QB's on our schedule this year: 'say that again, I couldn't hear you over the sound of me ####ing myself'

Ready to see #3 and the rest of the DL cause some havoc in the trenches and backfields next season.

the 2nd round don't get as much as they used to. The difference in the last pick of the first and first pick of the second is 1.3 mil alone.

So these guys that are borderline 1st-2nd round that could solidify a 1st round have a tougher decision.

Maybe Dabo got a finance professor to show him a Time-Value of Money analysis chart.

Definite Top 10 D and possibly higher. His return sealed it.***

First Round Draft Pick...

Posted: Jan 15, 2014 7:28 PM

Smart move Mr. Beasley. You could have gone for a Big Mac at McDonald's, but you played it smart. Wait one year and get the filet mignon at Ruth's Chris...

Thank you for the being so dedicated to Clemson and for being ALL IN!!!!

Awesome!!!

Interesting to see

[1]
Posted: Jan 15, 2014 7:33 PM

How Venables utilizes not only The Beast but balancing his skill set with the emerging and unique talents of a Shaq Lawson and Cory Crawford. Much like Morris in his third year, I think Venables will finally be able to access most of his play book and scheme.

The BEAST!

[1]
Posted: Jan 15, 2014 7:33 PM

THE BEAST is back! Our Defense will punch you in the mouth and dare a response! How long has it been since we could say that? Goooooo TIGERS!

that is HUGE !! wow.

here's to him having the best Senior season he could imagine.

not sure what the right thing was for him to do, but he instantly changes a LOT for the Tigers next year.

wow.

Give credit....

To Coaching staff for his development too. That's as important as bringing in talent.

Welcome back Vic! Tiger Nation is proud of you tonight***

Next year's top 10 draft pick...screw round 2

another 20 lbs

Posted: Jan 15, 2014 7:39 PM

And this guy is a top ten pick next year. Adding to the Clemson legend in the DL positions.

DB23

Perhaps

Posted: Jan 15, 2014 7:44 PM

Vic is 6'3 at most and weighed in at 245 at beginning of the season. After seeing Vic in person I'm not so sure his frame is built for 265. At OLB Vic should aim to play between 250-255 with his frame so that he maintains acceleration and quickness.

Re: Perhaps

Posted: Jan 15, 2014 10:00 PM

I disagree I think vic may be @ 260 'round this time nxt year.

Re: Perhaps

Posted: Jan 16, 2014 11:09 AM

Vic Beasley begun season at 245. ended season at 235.... he may start next season at 255... but he will not end next season at 260. His game is speed....

thanks Vic glad your coming back.

OUTSTANDING NEWS!!!

Posted: Jan 15, 2014 7:48 PM

Fantastic news from a great player! Nothing but the best from this young man this past season, and I wish him nothing but the best this season and for his career! This was a huge announcement for us! Thanks, Vic!!!

Huge 5* pickup for this class...way to go Vic!***

[1]
Posted: Jan 15, 2014 7:59 PM

And man, the LEADERSHIP he brings to the young guns....

[1]
Posted: Jan 15, 2014 8:05 PM

can't put a price on that! Vic's experience and maturity and "cool swag" gained from playing on the big stage will be invaluable to the team -- offense, defense, and special teams!

Is that the Hallelujah chorus I hear?***

Scheme

[1]
Posted: Jan 15, 2014 9:16 PM

He will be like clowney this year. Opposing offenses will scheme around him tremendously. Which will hurt his stats. But be great for our team. And as much as people analyzed clowney this year and the fact that he's still gonna be a top five pick, it should be the same way for Vic.

Re: Scheme

Posted: Jan 16, 2014 11:14 AM

I think Beasley will be in coverage at times and LB at times maybe a QB spy against running QBs. He did not return to be a 1 trick pony...
A LB blitz with Beasley dropping to over that zone...
you cannot devote 2 OL to block a man that is not rushing.

WOW!

[1]
Posted: Jan 15, 2014 9:22 PM

The defense has been getting better and better with Venables. Now with Beasley, Anthony, Crawford coming back (and Blanks who missed SCU and Orange Bowl). LOOK OUT!

Thank you, thank you, thank you

[1]
Posted: Jan 15, 2014 9:30 PM

Vic you're the man, I can't wait to see what Brent can do with his guys this year. It's gonna be a great one.
Thank you Vic for your unselfishness.

As great as he was last year, he made the right choice IMO..

[1]
Posted: Jan 16, 2014 9:07 AM

I think he needs to add 20lbs before giving the NFL a shot. I also think he needs to become all around dominate. He was for large stretches last season, but I would like to see constant disruption from him.

Thats right Vic come back to cause chaos on opposing
offenses. Come back and get even more money next year.
