Front Page Story: So long Sammy

Jan 10, 2014, 5:04 PM

So long Sammy

Sammy Watkins held his final press conference Friday afternoon, thanked the fans and coaches for a wonderful three years, but said he has maximized his opportunity at Clemson and is ready to move on. What does he say about his arrest? What is his favorite memory? Full Story »

What a classy, classy guy.

Never met him, he just seems like a really good guy. Wish him the best, don't blame him in the least for leaving, he's ready. Good luck in your future life, Sammy, just don't forget to come back and visit Clemson now and then!

Best of luck, Sammy. And while I know it is your dream,

I truly hope you are nowhere near the city of Buffalo at any point in your career unless you on an opposing team visiting for a game.

he was 1 exciting Tiger too watch! will be missed greatly

Jan 10, 2014, 5:47 PM

i'm glad i was able to be here in person & see him play his whole time, instead of still in Germany or just too far away to make the games.
sometimes you just knew it...he was about to take one to the house! can't wait to see what he can do in the pros, surrounded by other best of the bests.

suicide drinking game though would be to tap a sip everytime he said "ahhh"...he must really get nervous or is that camera-shy, but i never thought he was shy when i'd see him downtown or out in public.
DEFINITELY NOT ON THE FIELD!

Go Tigers! (he always says it)
Thank YOU Mr.SAMmy WATkinssss!

Sammy is a class act and waa a tough player during his time

at Clemson. He always gave his best effort.

He obviously is a very forgiving man as there seems to be no bitterness towards an uncaring Dabo for making him often play injured at less than 100% with the known possible disastrous impact on Sammy’s future NFL career from further injury.

I'm extremely happy for him that he comes out of Clemson as a healthy person and ends his playing days at Clemson back on top of his game due to his commitment, desire, determination, and hard work to be the best athlete we've ever had wearing the Clemson uniform. He suceeded.

I wish the best for Sammy Watkins in his future.

I'm questioning the "forced to play injured" part...

Jan 11, 2014, 3:34 PM

This guy....not a Dabo fan. Sammy is great & had an awesome year! I put him up there around CJ but am not quite sure if he is THE best ever in a Clemson uniform & I'm sure quite a few would argue that as well.
Helluva Tiger! Mister Sammy Watkins

yep...it's official, this thread has cooties :-/

freshman year he has only been just a better than average WR, nothing special but it's all in his head.

Hopefully he gets his confidence back and plays like he's a freshman again before Dabo abused him in that Carolina game just to get a W against SS. It did not help then and hopefully Watkins will tell DS to kiss off if it happens again this year.

To the chopping block :)
