There has to be a reason that this guy can't stay anywhere

for more than a year.

I'd say getting a DC position at UofL is better...

than just staying on at Bama as an "administrative assistant," wouldn't you? It's not like him being discussed for another job translates into him being fired at Bama.

It will be fun to watch his defense

from the other side.

Especially while our offense is hanging 40+ on it***

We can only hope it is for DC***

Wasn't he the DC when Clemson won the ACC championship?

Venables just has to hold the Cards to 69 points for a win!***

they never moved to stop any points or yardage. ;)

All we have to do is run the wildcat or any option offense! He can't stop either

People forget that Steele's first couple defenses were good

[1]
Posted: Jan 9, 2014 12:23 PM

He's a good coach who I think was trying to do too much with a Clemson defense that just didn't have much at LB and DB.

In Steele's first year, Clemson only gave up 21 pts/ game and 317 yards/ game (22nd in the country). In 2010, Clemson gave up 17.8 pts/ game (10th in the country) and 323 yards/ game (24th in the country). It was only in 2011 that things started to fall apart, as Clemson gave up 379 yards/ game and 26 pts/ game. So the truth is that the meltdown in 2011 was more of a bad exception to his pretty good tenure as a DC.

And then he brought in "his" recruits

Remember, this is the same guy that didn't recruit a headhunter like Boulware. Don't get me wrong, I liked Steele his first couple of years too. He just didn't adjust to the game as it evolved which it did very quickly.

Hope Bobby doesn't mind when he calls plays

which aren't even in the playbook. Plays which he used to call when he coached the Panthers.

70 points. Mini strokes on the sidelines. Stressing every single defensive player with a multitude of complicated options.

Good luck, Bobby Intern.

At least we know we'll be able to run on them :)

This is not starting out good for them. Maybe he will do better there, but I have serious doubts.
