Battle fights back - in a good way
Tackle Isaiah Battle was suspended earlier this season for punching an opposing player, and spent time in head coach Dabo Swinney's doghouse. Battle said Wednesday that it was a learning experience, and he learned to fight back the right way, earning a starting job. Full Story » |

I really liked what Battle had to say in this interview

He said all the right things and has seemed to have learned a very valuable lesson - on and off the field.
I think he will grow from the whole ordeal and become a solid leader on this team. Good luck to you, Mr. Battle.
Go Tigers!

This is one of the reasons why I love Dabo

I never want to root for an SEC disguised in orange. Even if it is terrible frustrating to not cut players, put bad attitudes in the dugouts and not lower out entry standards to let better athletes in. I would rather watch a team that I respect play football than one that wins at any cost. And Dabo has them winning a fair bit too.

It amazes me what solid, respectful interviews are players give.

Shows he can be a credit to the program

He managed to learn the "consequences and accountability" speech. Hopefully this kid will continue to do great things on and off the field.

As bad as the punch was. It put teams on notice that our Linemen are not going to take your $hit. They need to do it in different ways but I doubt anyone calls Battle soft. Like the Coot I had to listen to all day today and about 3 hours of listening about how Clowney was triple teamed all year. I reminded him that Brandon Thomas pretty much handled Clowney all game by himself and the only sack that he got was because Tajh ran into him while Brandon was blocking him by himself. The he had no comeback from that one.

He has the potential to be a very high draft pick if he continues to develop.

He's a tailor-made left tackle.
Length, strength and athleticism will help him go far.

Dwayne Allen. That hard edge in a grown man who knows right is a powerful thing.

Good lesson. That turd he hit was acting like a coot between every down. Some teams make plays with their hands and feet. Some do it with their mouths too (see coot coaching 101). Can't let 'em in your head, can't let 'em take your team's yards away with their mouths.
