In ALL honesty, the looming question is do we beat

Nov 22, 2013, 12:27 PM

South Carolina at WB next weekend. Our hearts say yes and the stats say its very plausable but we have had that feeling and statistics on hand for the last 4 years. Last year , I think I speak for most of us on here when I say that we believed it was all but a done deal when Latimore and Shaw was announced they wouldn't be playing. We have those same feelings again this year. Myself I think it is more psychological than anything. So what have the coots done to get inside our heads? Anyone have a clue?

Simple we beat the snot out of them***

Re: In ALL honesty, the looming question is do we beat

They have done two things

1) They have played their game. They haven't let our gameplan - or lack there of - influence what they do.

2) They have been visibly more intense and physical on the field than we have. I don't know if our younger guys have just been intimidated by the "thugs" and whatnot, but they've kind of punked us during their streak.

Play our game (i.e. not resorting to 15 yard passes on every down when we go down by 3 points) and be more physical than them and there is literally no way I think they can beat us.

This Will Be Discussed More In Depth Later....Trust Me ----

Nov 22, 2013, 1:00 PM

To sum it all up....4 years of it that is....this is a
game where stats, records, talent, and history are out
of the equation. For us its either we are the last team
standing or we fall in the 5 year abyss of Chickenlina
smack talk.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Physical, run em over, knock em on their butt physical

Nov 22, 2013, 1:46 PM [ in reply to Re: In ALL honesty, the looming question is do we beat ]

Play physical. I agree with you.
Coach has a problem getting our guys to hit somebody and offensive line looks like a sieve.
we need a coach that can bring dominating, physical linemen.
It does not help if you have guys like watkins and boyd and your line can't block for you long enough to get a play off.

1 thing about this rivalry. when everything is said and done

Nov 22, 2013, 12:59 PM

the better team wins the vast majority of the games. there really is not that many upsets'. and i am talking by the polls rated higher, not the vegas odds.

Re: 1 thing about this rivalry. when everything is said and done

Nov 22, 2013, 2:42 PM

Why would you take polls over vegas odds...Polls are about the year odds are about the game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Statistically speaking, that is the same as saying that

Nov 23, 2013, 5:37 PM [ in reply to 1 thing about this rivalry. when everything is said and done ]

Clemson usually wins this game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

so you get what i am saying !

Nov 23, 2013, 5:43 PM

we will win saturday !

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not sure they really got in our heads..

Nov 22, 2013, 1:04 PM

They've just had better OL/DL play and playcalling. Their defense this year is a shell of what it was the last couple years, though. Clemson, on the other hand, is a more physical team this year, and playing much better defense. I like our chances.

FWIW- What is the current life expectancy...80 or so?

Nov 22, 2013, 1:17 PM

For reasons of perspective(we know the coots are Pulitzer prize winners at this)lets see what it would require for the coots to level this rivalry. Lets imagine the coots won EVERY game from here until they evened up the score. If 170-131-2 is accurate, this means 39 years would be required to even it up. This is with every game won consecutively. So, if the ave life expectancy is say 80, then those coots with hopes of seeing it become an equal rivalry are 41 or older will die of old age before that happens. And that is if they win every game, give or take a post season match-up. Sobering...

It's not about what happened in 1947, 1931, or 1910, or even last year. It's about this year's game for this next year's bragging rights, get it?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

thats right....last year doesnt matter***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We haven't had an offense in 4 years against the coots.

Nov 22, 2013, 9:22 PM

We laid a serious offensive egg against them last year.

Re: In ALL honesty, the looming question is do we beat

Nov 22, 2013, 9:01 PM

In the past few years when the Tigers were playing a team that started playing back-yard ball they did not know how or want to go blow for blow the LSU game changed that, now I think that they can play what ever game the other team decides they want played, sometimes rules are for the ones whom want to play by them, not everything is covered in the rule book
