... for comparably well-coached teams. Per my pre-game post (and data linked below), the talent level between FSU & Clemson had been comparable for a few years, but the talent gap increased last year and even more this year. As long as FSU continues to out-recruit Clemson and retains a competent coaching staff, we should expect more FSU dominance, barring some crazy upset.

You've nailed it. And yet so many bought the kool-aid that we were an elite team----in spite of glaring weaknesses on the OL, the secondary, at tight end, and being very average at RB. Against a truly elite team, even our vaunted defensive front seven got pummeled repeately for chunk plays. And IHO, we got out-coached. I don't think we could have won this game by any means, but could played more respectably. This was a humiliation on a huge stage that will damage the program for years to come. I suspect that much of Dabo's recruting luster is long gone.
