UGA's Running Strategy against Clowney

Simple, Old School. When not in the Shotgun, Georgia broke the huddle, lined up under Center (the I formation was a killer), and let the defense get set. Then Murray would simply tap his leg opposite the side Clowney was on, and the backs and the ball went to that side. Power run game with a lead blocker. It eliminated any audibles should they flop Clowney.

Of course, against a good Defensive Line like ours, this would not work.

run right at him. He's so bent on an outside lane to the QB that the RB can usually go right past him for 5-10 yards. He's quick. And if he's not sucking wind, he can usually run down the rb and get in on the tackle.

Clowney gets heavy momentum & can't stop or change direction quick enough in the run-game!

run straight at him, but play around him...pitch it or juke & cut up before you get to him while he's trying to get in & crush somebody...

GOOD CALL! Totally agree...& he thinks folks don't run at him & are scared. they shouldn't be! both Tajh & our run-game to his side didn't do bad last year until we got away from what was tested & working really.

also you can refer back to his on-field vs off-field opponent's performance percentages...they don't lie!
