Offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell told the media Tuesday that he wants his best five players out on the field when the whistle blows. I think Crowder is going to be a beast for us, maybe not this year, but certainly in the future. Good to hear that Kalon is getting back to where he needs to be...just having back surgery this spring, I know it takes a while to get back. Battle is the one I'm disappointed with.

... what was being said about Brandon Thomas a couple of years ago. They were saying that Thomas had all the tools and the talent, but he just wasn't putting it all together. Now he's a complete player and a team leader to boot!
Hopefully what the coaches are saying about Battle here in the middle of the summer is mainly rhetoric designed to light a fire under him and we'll see him come into his own this fall.

Can anyone answer what has happened to Shaq Anthony? Last year he was fighting for a starting position and high on the depth chart. Now he is NEVER mentioned.

Shaq ran into some academic trouble and was suspended for the bowl game. However, he did well in spring practice and Dabo said yesterday that Shaq is around 295 pounds and has done everything he needs to do to get back in the good graces of the coaches and be in the mix when fall camp starts.

Really good news with Shaq, and with the other prospects mentioned in the interview. I believe Shaq will be a real asset to this line and to this team. It is very disheartening to a DL when he looks up, and he's about to fall over because he is so worn out, and across from him is a fresh OL. It is demoralizing. That quality depth is what has been missing from our team for a long time. Get that back, and we will be amazed at how successful we will be.

be the answer out of any coaches mouth. What else would you want? I understand WHY this is said because of coaches out there that play seniors over others etc. that has always blown my mind. PLAY OUR BEST PLAYERS. Thank you Caldwell!

I think what Caldwell is trying to stress is the importance of knowing multiple positions so that the best players are always out there, regardless of the necessary combination.
