I was thinking the same thing. One of us doesn't understand what "100%" and "committed" means.

Re: I'm not sure where I want to go right now...

Feb 25, 2013, 12:34 PM [ in reply to I'm not sure where I want to go right now... ]

He meant where he would like to go on official visits...

I would go to Miami, Colorado, Oregon and a school in California if they offered..... I would still play for Clemson.....

These are free trips to places most of these kids have never been... He is upfront about what he wants to do. I think he should!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"Committed, but" is an ignorant statement.***

Let him visit, and if he doesn't want to be a Tiger, that is his problem.

Re: Lighten up Francis

Feb 25, 2013, 3:12 PM

Right on port! Let the coaches; players; facilities; and school make it where kids want to come play football. Great fans only make it better. These are after all only kids and it is a game. Bottom line I doubt many, if any, who chose to come and play at Clemson will tell you they regret it and I'm sure that trend will continue.

Let the kid enjoy it

Feb 25, 2013, 10:54 AM

He said he was committed and even said other schools know he is solid to clemson. If a school wants to waste money giving him a free trip then let them. He is coming to clemson and I don't make a practice of bad mouthing future tigers. This isn't a kid out of Florida or GA he is a hometown guy who wants to take advantages of his opportunities. As long as he is upfront with everyone involved I am okay with it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have no problem with the kid

Feb 25, 2013, 11:06 AM

He is simply using the words as they are popularly used in recruiting. We ALL know the word "commitment" doesn't mean the same thing in recruiting as it does in virtually every other other area of life.

Just the way it is.

You can bet if I was a high school hot prospect I would take all 5 visits even if I knew in my heart I was coming to Clemson. Why not. Enjoy the opportunity of a lifetime.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't understand why Hawaii doesn't get more officials

Feb 25, 2013, 11:19 AM

They'd be first on my list to take an official to. I'd also check out USC/UCLA to see Hollywood, Texas/UGA because Austin and Athens are really fun cities, probably Miami for another beach trip, etc.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I don't understand why Hawaii doesn't get more officials

Feb 25, 2013, 11:39 AM

then wait till finished trips then commit. i dont understand fully dabos policy. he has stated that if a prospect is committed to another school he will still continue to recruit that athlete and have him here for a visit because he doesnt consider him committed if he visits clemson, so why doesnt this apply to this kid. i know an early signing period would solve this and save money but this policy of dabos gets crazier as the years go by. and if any kid would not take visits it should be one from here in our back yard. just do silent commits and avoid the press and problems.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree, he's earned the right to visit any school he wants without criticism or a conspiracy theory breaking out. Once he realizes what a great place this is it just confirms what he already knows without looking back someday and wondering what the other schools even looked like. Wonder if fans of Hawaii or Texas A&M had the same issue? Also wonder if coaches are promoting the Thursday night game is a recruiting plus? One in 11 years but will it become a staple under the new AD?

I have no problem with it at all.

I'd love to check out those places and attend those official visits for free...who wouldn't.

He seems dead set on Clemson, but just wants enjoy the process thats available.

I have never been big on Dabo's philosophy of no visits once committed. I do understand the reasoning though.
