IMHO ... players either are good FT shooters or they're not.

Shooting is a skill that is developed while growing up.

Can a player improve after he reaches college? Sure.

But, most are not going to become good FT shooters through coaching if they weren't already good before they got to campus.

And honestly, most college players can routinely hit 80% or better in practice.

The bigger and much more important question though is can they hit FTs while exhausted and under extreme pressure in the closing seconds of a tight game?

White football uniforms

Feb 22, 2013, 9:45 PM

Mickey,
I'm old so I saw many home games in the 60's. We almost always wore white at home. My recollection is that Coach Howard thought the white jerseys were cooler because they did not absorb heat like colored jerseys. It was his decision which was made for a pragmatic reason!

I seem to remember in the "old days" it was the home team's choice of what color to wear. Coaches probably got tired of having to declare their intentions before each game and changed the system. Plus, all game films were black & white (film and developing were cheaper), so the choice of jersey was important to the study of the film.
