It's sounds kind of bad and I'm not saying I don't want him at Clemson, but if you grew up in Saluda and you don't know where you want to go between USC and Clemson, I don't know. I guess I just can't relate.

Very, Very Excited. Very, Very Proud.

If you're not a college football fan you won't have a preference. Not everyone is born in a clemson/carolina family.

he's from my home town. I hope we get him. It's been a long time since Saluda has sent anyone to a D1 school, if ever.***

proud of Jonathan Brooks from Saluda. Every Sunmday during this coach's show he would credit Brooks with a tackle and mention his hometown and his parents (by name). That guy was a pretty good recruiter and the mothers loved him. He had some success as I remember.

I grew up in Saluda, and yes, it has been a long time. In the early 70's the Brooks brothers were D1 and NFL caliber players. The older brother, Richard (aka Red) was the better of the 2. He was committed to the #####, but unfortunately drowned in Lake Greenwood over the summer before his enrollment - a real sad story. He's the best HS running back I've ever seen. A real threat to score every time he touched the ball - kickoff/punt return, running back, whatever. It's a shame we never got to see what he how far he could go. His younger brother, Jonathan (aka Jon) played defense for Clemson and went on to play a few years in the NFL. He played against OSU in the famous Gator Bowl game starring slugger Woody Hayes.
