ACC presidents: The real version

Dec 6, 2012, 2:35 PM

“We, the undersigned presidents of the Atlantic Coast Conference, wish to express our commitment to preserve and protect the future of our outstanding but underfunded league. We want to be clear that the speculation about ACC schools in negotiations or considering alternatives to the ACC are totally false... at this moment. The presidents of the ACC are united in our commitment to a strong and enduring conference.. unless one of them get invited to the SEC.. or the BigTen, or the Big XII.. heck we would join the pac12 to get out of here. Pac12 east anyone? The ACC has long been a leader in intercollegiate athletics, both academically and athletically.. well in basketball... and the constitution of our existing and future member schools will maintain the ACC’s position as a distant 5th place behind the nation’s premier conferences.”

fact is, the ACC will be much stronger after Maryland leaves

Dec 6, 2012, 2:35 PM

the addition of ND, UofL, Pitt and Syracuse more than makes up for the loss of Maryland.

True! Also, all it will take is one or two more football teams competing routinely in the top 15 and the ACC will be back in the mix as a top contender....that's considering we have a strong Clemson, FSU, Notre Dame, Louisville, we need Miami, Va Tech, Pitt or Ga Tech to get back to power football and all is good.
