know more than our OC, but the only way I would gameplan so a player of mine gets a record is if he stayed for his senior year instead of going pro. Boyd should have at least 16 more games to get this record if he sticks around.

Also, why on earth would a coach hold back on a player like that? That's blackmail, and certainly no way to establish rapport.

I understand what you are saying, but what happened to Lattimore (Heartbreaking) could happen to any football player including Boyd at any time. Just glad it didn't happen to Boyd during those plays to get the record. However we have to live for the moment and as as someone mentioned this could be a huge confidence booster to complete the season in fine fashion. I guess we will just have to see.

I highly doubt he will be going pro after this year but if he does then that's his choice.
I also don't think that Morris game planned all week for Boyd to get the record, but when Sammy, Nuk, Peake, Bryant, (insert any other receiver, most of them caught a pass) are playing like they were with Boyd being on his A-game like he was these things happen.
If I knew I was 8 yards away from a record in the 3rd quarter and the coach wouldn't let me stay in I would be PI$$ED.

appreciate Boyd enough to consider this. I like that Dabo had to be convinced to let him back out there (ie, Dabo is thinking about the overall season and protecting his QB). And of course, I like the Tajh got the record. Good stuff.
