This is one of the reasons, 1 attempt to the TE, that I was screaming at the TV Saturday. It also lends to my theory(for what that is worth) that the Chad's play calling was "dummed-down" by external forces.

Pretty crazy that Shuey had more tackles in a game than anyone else has had this season; with it being his first career start.

Dude was just flying around the field

It seemed like they were calling his name every snap. He was everywhere. I really enjoyed watching him play Saturday.

Shuey is our mos disciplined defense player

Oct 24, 2012, 2:21 PM [ in reply to Re: Front Page Story: The Tiger Ten ]

Hey does his job and trusts that those around him will do theirs. A friend of mine says that he's also too slow to overrun anybody, so he's able to stay in the play. He wasn't saying that Shuey is slow in general. Just saying that he doesn't have the speed to get himself into a position where he can't course correct.

The only reason he won't be an every down player is his speed. When you run with only 2 LBs most downs, you have to have the speed to get in his drops quickly and cover TEs and RBs.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Shuey has that type of speed, which could limit him overall.

I expect the yardage the D is giving up to go down

Oct 24, 2012, 1:35 PM

because we're playing Wake and Maryland to finish up the year. Whether they can keep the average below the 433/ypc record depends on how they play against Duke and USC. I expect NC State to be able to throw the ball on us, but if our defense plays well they can keep the other two teams below 400 yards.

And with that assessment, Danny Ford just exhaled with disgust, and spit a six foot long stream of tobacco juice. :)
