I think we know what to expect from Ellington. He's a great player.

If Willard can continue this level of play, and we can get Christian/Townsend on board, our LB corps will be something to look forward to watching.

Huh?!

"Ellington, unlike Spiller, ran with great intensity and worked hard to get as much yardage as possible from every carry."

I seem to remember Spiller running extremely hard and "intense" trying to pick up as many yards as possible as well. The only exception being when the turf toe was really bothering him, he'd avoid contact.

Ellington's last game showed so much "relentlessness", it could be put next to that game.

Not saying Spiller didn't run hard

but I would agree that Ellington is a little more comfortable with contact.

CJ is not a great pure runner. He dances around too much and

is not decisive hitting holes. Ellington is a great pure RB and makes decisions and hits holes very quickly and with a burst.

I was thinking he should have said, "not unlike Spiller". I will say that most of the other comments here are pretty accurate though.

spiller ran fast but he didn't tough out yardage like AE

Sep 4, 2012, 12:06 PM [ in reply to Huh?! ]

spiller was usually down after the first hit. He didn't get hit very often though bc he was too busy shake defenders out of their shoes..

But AE lowers his head and runs through the tackles better. Spiller had one run that i remember where he tried to tough out a run against Maryland to get a first down in a 4th and 18 situation at the end of the game...where he got it, i thought, but they spotted him short of the first down. I thought he was tough on that play...but even Jamie Harper wasn't that tough...i thought AE was tougher than he was and he weighed 220 lbs.

problem has been staying healthy. It would have been a huge mistake to go pro last year, IMO, assuming he can stay healthy this year. If he has a great year and can stay healthy throughout the season, he'll be a 1st round pick.

Ellington leads the nation in rushing, while Nuke leads the nation in receptions.

Sure,only week 1.
