Where does Norton fit in? I thought he was impressing the coaches and going to be a first team guard. With so much uncertainty on the line with just two weeks to go before Auburn, not sure that this is a good thing.

and the rest working for a backup position you've got quality depth.
The shakeup means they are competing with each other, not in one play, but in every play. That's as close to a real game situation as you can get.

Here are my two guesses. They are trying to light a fire under Kalon Davis so we have a solid #2 center who can fill in at eith guard while Freeman is still there. Or.....They are considering Freeman at tackle and want Norton ready in case they need to go that route. Whatever the reasoning I don't see anything bad about what the coaching staff is doing. From the sound of it Norton is good to go at guard or center.

He told me that he got lazy because he didn't have any competition for his spot. He started 4 years at guard and never really progressed the way he could have. Competition is a nice change from the way things were before.

Yep, people are going to complaim when they don't see things going as before. Well going as before just wasn't working to well. Shake it up, bust it up, turn it around and do again another way. As long as it works for the best i don't care!!!

I agree about Anthony.
The negativity about the line comes from the fact that we'll be starting 2 guys who have never taken a snap at OL and 1 who played less than 50 snaps all last season.
Our offensive line has also been consistently inconsistent for years.
I hope that can change. I think we're headed in the right direction.

going to be SICK this year....speed kills. We had 624 yards of offense and over 36 minutes of possession last year....I'm really curious to see how many snaps we'll take vs. Allbarn...

This year will probably be totally different than last year's game because Auburn's offense is not in Gus Malzhan's hands anymore and they will slow things up now.
Although we did run out the clock last year and could have had at least 700 yards of offense if we needed it. Don't think we will have anywhere near 36 minutes of poss. but I hope I am wrong with that one.

I said earlier this week I thought Shaq was going to be the new name that turns out to be a star for us and this is encouraging. Lets hope I am right and he is a beast and we have no problems on the line.
