For some, a commitment is a one way street

Seems to me that if he's committed and basically said "Don't recruit another QB or I'm gone" he should return the favor and not visit any other school.

His words were, ( I am going to be very interested in them.) That doesn't sound very committed to us. Sounds to me like He's telling FSU, make me an offer.

The guy isn't even a junior in high school. As long as Chad is here, he will be a Tiger. Let him take his visits. We have a better chance at keeping him if we let him look at other places

more full years in high school to not take any other visits, especially when he is this highly recruited.
I don't have an answer, but I don't think recruiting kids this young is a good thing.

good points. I guess you hate to turn down a great commitment but there is a long way to go on this recruitment. It will be 2 years worth of the RN situation as far as everyone wanting to sway him

Think back to when y'all were 16. If one of your parents locked you up in your room and didn't let you go to your friends' houses and the other one pretty much let you do what you want, which one were you more likely to want to be around?

if one of our commitments is on the OTHER sideline of a game we are playing. That looks totally bad.
But, if he wants to visit during the FSU game, and sit on our side... great.

If Chad K. is the quarterback we think he is, and he redshirts, then plays through his senior year, Watson would be looking at sitting - no better than back-up - for two years. Watson may be looking at that. ??

he would leave after his Jr year for the pros. I'm glad to have this kid but the not recruiting others at your position promise always worries me. that usually seems to bite you eventually

so Kelly might have lost his job. Watson will likely be a 5 star in the end. Amyway. hope we hold on to him, but obviously not looking good.

Kelly came out highly regarded. He was ranked as the #4QB by pretty much every service. Started for one team at the Under Armor All American game.
This guy will be a good one. Hoping he will help lead us to a National Championship.
Has good speed and a very good arm.

Why any Dual threat QB would want to go to FSU is beyond me
Aug 10, 2012, 1:49 PM
[ in reply to If he decomitts from us ] |

FSU is not a running QB system, I mean, just look at EJ Manuel, most of his runs are because he just likes to take off running the ball on a pass play, so he rarely has any blockers knowing where hes going.
Lets just look: Chad Morris' 80+ plays a game where he would love to use a running QB, and knows how to utilize the talent he has.
OR
Jimbo's play action offense where he doesnt know how to utilze his talent (see EJ Manuel and not calling more read-option/QB running plays)

They run a good amount of plays for running QB's
Aug 10, 2012, 7:57 PM

Options, Rollouts, Read options at times. Lets not forget Charlie Ward won the Heisman there. They may not run every play from the shotgun, but they have had success with mobile QB's and can sell the more pro-style offense compared to other schools.

That they would whoop our a$$es in Tally and show him where he needs to be. Could backfire big time if we can get out of Doak with a W. that's going to be tough. They have that game circled on their calendar. They Know that they have to win that one to win the ACC. Mani hope our OL is gelling by then!

responses on Tigernet, this youngster may decommit. This kid is going into his junior year in high school! Why can't we say things positive to keep a very young kid involved with Clemson? Most of these comments do nothing to help Jeff Scott and other coaches involved in recruiting.

Really? We do the same thing to other schools, its part of the process. These kids arent fans of schools, they are products, thats it. Give the young kid a break.
