#2 should be #1

And honestly, if the O-line is good enough, it won't matter who carries the ball, although AE can definitely be a gamebreaker.

Agree.***

Don't forget about DJ Howard

Jul 3, 2012, 12:03 PM [ in reply to #2 should be #1 ]

I think this could be a breakout year for him if the OL can make some holes in the middle of the line. DJ showed that he can get yards after contact... that's what we need to augment Ellington's breakaway ability.

I agree as well.

I would go...

#1 Boyd
#2 O-line
#3 AE/ DTs

We do Chicken right...it's not just for frying anymore!

If he did, Dabo is a sell out!!! How could any man allow another man that has talked more chit about you and your team than korncoot has. And let him be allowed in your house. Knowing how Dabo feels about korncoot. I don't see him (korncoot) being on the guess list.

I think the #1 should be:
Tajh Boyd needs to protect the ball!! Fewer INT's - and more completions. The guy has a cannon and is often more accurate than anyone in the league, but sometimes...whew! It's almost like he has to be trailing by 30 points before he starts playing to his potential. He needs to think he's 30 points behind on EVERY play.

Also, I'm surprised that Zac Brooks isn't emphasized more. I think he will be excellent and we will probably see him break a few long runs this year if given the chance.

The Defense WILL Be Much Better Because....

Jul 3, 2012, 12:16 PM

Last year's defense scheme was way too complicated.... how many times did we see the Defense scurrying around like a bunch of chickens (sorry the pun) with thier heads cut off, right up to the snap of the ball. This year, I believe the defense scheme is simplier, more "smash mouth". Fundementals are emphasized, like proper tackling technique.

2. FSU lose on road at VT
3. Beat Duke, WF, and Maryland
4. Go atleast 2-2 vs: @BC, GT, VT, NCST

RB, OL, DL, & D is THREE things like improving is ONE thing!

Jul 3, 2012, 7:41 PM

The analysis is spot on, but it's kinda funny to call that THREE things. Sportswriting nature to make lists of 1, 3, 5 or 10. :)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tajh needs to improve the short screen pass to the flats

Jul 3, 2012, 11:50 PM

I still don't get why he ends up throwing those at the receiver's feet.

I think the defense will be good enough. last season the only defense clemson had was the offense. the offensive coordinator performed beyond expectations. the new guy that is running the def this year will has a very good record. the last def cordr was a politician. he was more concerned with telling you who he worked for and how complex his scheme was. Beware of any coach who advertises complexity. Football is a simple game; how good you are fundamentally determines how good you are. when you seldom practice shedding blocks, you cannot do on a co nsistant basis. When you get overly nervous on game day, you are questioning your preparation. The new guy will get it done.
