much easier to get baseball jucos in because most are qualifiers that go juco to improve their stock, not their grades. small detail i know.

In the last few years, Brad McCann, Marquez Smith, Matt Sanders, and Tomas Cruz to name just a few have come to Clemson from junior colleges.

Maybe you didn't

Depends on the program they are in

Gulf Coast Community College (McCann) and Young Harris (Sanders) both have 4 year degrees. Neither Gulf Coast or Young Harris play in a JUCO league. They play small 4 year schools. I think both McCann and Sanders were technically "transfers" in that they didn't receive an associates degree and apply to Clemson. But both of those were 4 years ago so the brain could be fuzzy. Cruz seemed to be about 45 when he graduated so I don't really all his stops.

I don't think Clemson prevents JUCOs. I've heard Leggett say he doesn't like going JUCO since they could be 1 and done players. Chris Dwyer was a similar situatio in that he was 20 when he got to Clemson and only stayed one year. It can be a disruption.

Wasn't Jay Cox a JUCO as well?***

Not sure about that

I don't think that you can really make any judgement based on this. He spent his first year at a non-JUCO school and then transferred to JUCO. That is likely to mean that academically he is in a little better position than someone who is part way through an associate's degree.

I think the JUCO thing really depends on the situation.

JUCO is a staple in college baseball. We don't get many.

You can say what you want, but we will never have the numbers of JUCO's as our instate buddies.
