Front Page Story: The next Jarvis Jenkins?

Feb 21, 2012, 3:23 PM

The next Jarvis Jenkins?

A 4 star play making defensive tackle lives just 15 minutes from Clemson but can Dabo and Co. hold off big time coaches like Nick Saban who personally offered last week. Full Story »

Monster P/U if we can beat out Bama

Feb 21, 2012, 3:54 PM

This would be huge. I think possible starter as Frosh right off the bat. Hope Clemson being in Home state helps.

Re: isn't his coach a big USCe guy

Feb 21, 2012, 4:27 PM

Seems that I remember reading his coach is really pushing him to USCe.

Had anyone else heard this?

What a rotation of him, carlos watkins, and hopefully montarvius adams.

Devane and Fox back in the 80s.

Montavious Adams would be a monster. But I would butcher his name for the next 4 years, that's for sure.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree. DeShawn is definitely a Jenkins/Thompson type.

With Michael playing beside DeShawn, it would be like having the Jenkins Twins on the DL.

The definition of awesome!

Him growing up so close to Clemson.......

Feb 21, 2012, 6:37 PM

I would say he probably liked Clemson as a kid. Hopefully we were his childhood favorite. That can play a huge role. Go Get Em Dabo!!!

With most local kids, it's either the only place...

Feb 22, 2012, 10:10 AM

... they want to go, or the last place in the world they'd want to go.

Paul Is A HUGE Gamecock

Feb 21, 2012, 7:48 PM

Sutherland is my first cousin. Growing up we had our fair share of Coot/Tiger moments. I guarantee you he is pushing the dirty chickens to the kid. Hopefully the player and his family will want him very close to home. I will give Paul a call this week and tell him to put the kid before his dirty Coots.

Hill Expected To Go To Clemson

Feb 21, 2012, 8:08 PM

Paul says Hill is super close to his dad and expects him to go to Clemson to remain at home. He did say "I'd prefer he went anywhere else" (laughing). Paul is a Coot, but he will support what's best for Hill. We will get him.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If you really love a kid, at some point you just have to

Feb 22, 2012, 7:10 AM

put your own agenda completely out of mind. You know SOS is working your cousin hard, though. I hope he has the cajunas to keep things on the up-and-up.

"but he will support what's best for Hill" - you do not

Feb 23, 2012, 6:36 PM [ in reply to Hill Expected To Go To Clemson ]

know yor cousin very well. I will be stunned if we get Hill. The Pendleton coach is luckadoo X 3 in his dislike for Clemson. Just remember the dirty stuff that went on with Shaun Ellis. You will see a repeat.

agreed. Huge Gamecock.

He also sounds like a good guy. In an earlier article, Sutherland really sounded like he is most interested in what Michael Hill wants and what's best for him. It sure sounded genuine to me.
