Was it the same knee as before?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Medical Redshirt?

Oct 19, 2011, 2:48 PM

Due to his low snap count, do you think he will qualify for a Medical Redshirt?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably not.....

Oct 19, 2011, 2:49 PM

I think if it's more that 1/3 of the season, you can't medical redshirt.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

that's why he said it will take a special waiver***

Oct 19, 2011, 2:50 PM [ in reply to Medical Redshirt? ]

badge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If we play 14 games then 5/14 is 35.7%. The limit is 30%

Oct 19, 2011, 3:29 PM

He played in 5 games so there is no way he is getting a medical redshirt. This stinks.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: If we play 14 games then 5/14 is 35.7%. The limit is 30%

Oct 20, 2011, 12:47 AM

Maybe or maybe not. He only played 30 snaps, or something like that, and it depends on how they view his playing time. I don't know what he will get, but we can just hope for the best. In hindsight, it may have been better for him to have redshirted this season and gotten completely healed. Some will say, "well it was his other knee", but maybe he was putting too much pressure on his good knee that caused the problem. Stay tuned. He is a great kid, though, and my prayers for a complete and speedy recovery are with him.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Really hate that for this kid

Oct 19, 2011, 2:50 PM

Maybe with the low snap count we can get a Medical Redshirt for him.

At least the guy he has been backingup has been playing good ball, Tig Willard. Now we got to find someone to spell Tig when he needs a break.

Hope he can rehab and return.

I believe what you'resaying is correct. Most ACL reconstuctions makes fora better knee. Pro FB is full of ACL reconstuctions to where the players have a long career. No NUT holding on Tony. He will be a better, stronger and a more knowledgeable BEAST. That will not be good for opposing QBs and RBs. GET WELL SOON TONY!!!

When you hurt one knee in FB, you usually

end up hurting the other, too. After my first surgery, the doc told me I would injure the other one, and I did a year later. The body doesn't seem to like compensating.

Good luck rehabbing, Tony, come back stronger than ever.

BUMMER,, man that sucks, best wishes to him, a big thanks for his hard work this year. I hope he is back to 100% as soon as able because he will be missed.

Now,,, shake it off PAW NATION. Tony is a great guy but he is not our whole defense like one post seemed to imply. If there is one thing this team has proven it is they know how to pull it together when needed. They are young fast and getting better.

People that say everything will be just find all we have to do is plug in so an so.However more than ever before teams need to be deep. We saw what happened to Maryland last week and that is why we don't need to lose anybody. In other words,It hurts us to lose anyone.
