This is interesting...

There have been NO reports or speculation of this in the Tulsa area at all. It looks like Clemson coming after Morris may have forced Gundy's hand.

It's almost as if he wasn't Gundy's top, and he thought he could go after him if "others" declined.

The trip to Clemson is upping Gundy's timetable.

On a side note... this is not good news for us. Morris would rather stay here and T. Boone's pockets are deep.

I wonder why he didn't get hired at Texas?

It seems like he could do wonders with the athletes they
get and adding a younger coach under Mac might get the fans excited after losing Muschamp.

Chris Rumpf worked for Clemson. When grown-ups are involved, they often make career decisions based on income and opportunity to advance their goals.

Just sayin'.

Re: I believe his Alma mater is A&M...

I saw a post yesterday stating that Rumph was getting $350,000 to coach the DLs at Bama. On 'Football Scoop' there's a post about Kirby Smart (Bama DC) signing a new 3- year contract for $850,000 ($286,667/per year). Kinda' strange to be paying an assistant more than a coordinator. Saban must really be trying to ###### some DLs from our area.

OK ST. Is automatically a bigger draw, because people

know where they are. If Dabo truly wants Morris, purse strings will have to be loosened. Honestly, I don't know why Barker and TDP can't understand that money trumps "diamonds in the rough." Let someone else mature and develop the diamonds, then pay a lot of money to get them. I don't know what the football budget is, but I am pretty sure that we are leaving a decent amount of surplus each year. If not, then funds aren't being properly allocated.

There a number of similarities to Clemson however Recent polls place Clemson as a top 20 college to coach at

Football stadium 0nly 60,000
baseball stadium 4,000
Students at Stillwater campus 21,000

Jan 6, 2011, 2:38 AM

I went and searched the Okla news papers for any football coaching searches. The only coaching searches I could find was fir Basketball. I think the head horses are tring to sell us a bag of sh!t, and telling us that it is a bag of goal. Bottom line Dabo, TDP, Baker, BOT, hire a prover OC. And hire one with a proven college pedigree. Y'all have already spent a fortune on nothing. Over 5 mil between TB and Dabo in the last 2 and a half years, with abosolutely nothing to show for it except, wasted 5 mil....
