Dang! I hate seeing ole Billy Napier hitting the brinks, but this may be a good indication of Coach Sweeney's dedication to righting the ship. As long as recruiting holds up. The Tigers should be OK!

Dabo meddled in Napier's play-calling & fired him for it.

But the simple truth is that Dabo made a foolish rookie mistake by promoting an unproven Napier to be the OC two seasons ago. Last season the pathetic offensive game-planning and play-calling cost Clemson a few losses (GT, TCU, & UMD), a Top-15 ranking, and a decent bowl berth. But the once-in-a-quarter-centruy homerun talents of Spiller & Ford made Dabo & Napier look better than they were.
The unfortunate thing is that Dabo and Napier are great recruiters, and so if Clemson had just hired a good head coach instead of Dabo, that head coach would have almost certainly retained Dabo & Napier, and likely led Clemson to Top 15-ish rankings for the last two seasons. Instead Clemson wasted two more years, while FSU, SCar et al, grew stronger.
I'm impressed that Dabo had the guts to fire Napier. I didn't think he had it in him. I guess he learned from Tommy Bowden that if you keep an incompetent friend as OC, you'll both be looking for jobs.

While Dabo is in the house cleaning mood; he should get rid of (lardbutt)Brad Scott as well. Don't why Tommy wanted a SC reject anyway.

It was philosophical differences that did Napier in...

I don't disagree that Dabo meddled in Napiers play calling, but I think he did so because Napier wasn't running the offense that Dabo wanted to run. Napier is a power I, play action signal caller and Dabo wants a spread, fast paced offense. The problem stemmed from philosophical differences, not Dabo's insistence on changing plays. If someone like Morris becomes the new OC, Dabo will have the offense he desires and will not feel the need to intervene.
