There was no "Run the opposite way" going on. Most runs

were slap up the middle for South Carolina. you can't run the opposite way when you are running up the middle.
The zone read that South Carolina runs is not a run wide running attack.

Agreed. Take responsibility for what happened. Bowers couldn't sack Garcia because 2 SC guys were on him all night (Chisolm and Nunn) simple as that.

You do know that we have more ACC championships than any other school, and a National Championship. Trust me, last year was nowhere close to Clemson's best season in history. It was mediocre at best.
That is the problem with USuC. There is no measuring stick to measure greatness. That is why you think you are great when finishing 5-3 in a very bad division.
Top ten seasons and championships is how we at Clemson measure great seasons. We have been there, sorry that you do not know what that feels like.

It has been proven at Clemson that it can be done. USuC is barley over .500 in the lifetime of the program. Not so sure it will ever be done there. You have the best players and the best coach that you ever have had and went 5-4 in a terrible division.
But that was the best ever, so congrats. Sorry for your failures.

Lattimore didn't need an excuse. His job was to occupy the Clemson defense while Garcia and Jeffrey destroyed Clemson's secondary.

I believe when you're a All American first round NFL pick, you shouldn't complain that an opponent ran the other way and held you on every play. Did you see anywhere where Lattimore made any excuses for his less than normal performance.

It's not a statement of fact

If there were 15 holding penalities on South Carolina during the game, then there would be credibility to his statement.
Saying they "ran the opposite way" when 95% of the runs were straight up the middle in a zone blocking scheme sounds like he was still smarting over the results from that game.

there was last year. Spiller got drafted after just 18 yds against us. NFL teams may have earned their lesson though. Lets hope Lattimore improves from his true freshman year.

Spiller is counting his millions
Dec 30, 2010, 6:11 PM
|
|
He was only the fifth player in NCAA history to reach 7,000 all purpose yards, he had more than Tim Brown or Reggie Bush. Fourth in APY in 2009, has lightning speed and can catch.
CJ was a top ten pick in the NFL draft last year. Lattimore is a freshman for a very mediocre college football team. Lattimore has a long way to go before he gets anywhere close to the achievements of CJ. He is helped by a very talented WR that take pressure off him in the running game. Take away Jeffery and see what he does.
Monetarily speaking, it is about 30 million dollars!

You are lost dude. I am not taking just any game, I am taking the one game, Clemson vs SC. You said CJ had 18 yards last year. Yes, he had 18 rushing yards, but he had about 120 more in receiving and returning.
Just as a side note, CJ had 155 yards against USuC as a freshman, ALL RUSHING!!!!!!! Whatcha got?

Dec 30, 2010, 6:31 PM

Ford is great, but we did not use him the way that Spurlid uses Jeffery.
Teams loaded to stop the run, you could not do that against USuC.
Lattimore maybe, and I say that very liberally, a better true RB than CJ. However, the NFL does not want that anymore. Look at all the great RB's in the NFL and they can do it all.
Either way, this was about Bowers being held, which he was. Do I blame the loss on that, no! Do I blame him not getting to Car-key-a for the sac record, yes!
Either way, it ain't cheating if you do not get caught, so great job, but it is what it is.
