Top 25 Clemson football players of all-time: RESULTS!
Jul 28, 2009, 8:39 PM
|
|
First of all, I want to thank everyone who sent in a vote. I received 44 votes and really enjoyed putting this together and seeing who everyone's favorite players were. Since I'm not but 20, I enjoyed getting to see some of the fan favorites from the previous generations.
Anyways, I'll start by listing a few guys who didn't quite make the top 25 cut.
30. Aaron Kelly (38 points) 29. Tye Hill (39 points) 28. Chester McGlockton (41 points) 27. Kenny Flowers (43 points) 26. Donnell Woolford (44 points)

They only get one jersey of each color, this was his 96 jersey. It was the only year they wore this style by russell.

that's what I've heard from former equipment managers. You got to realize they only wear these things about 5 times, then they wear the white or purple one the other games. Any tears or repairs are just stitched up. I also have a J Miller, Leroy Hill, and T Zachary.

I'm sorry but there is no way you can put Leroy Hill and Keith Adams in front of Anthony Simmons. The most dominant CU LB since Levon Kirland.

I thought for sure that Woody Dantzler would be a runaway with the number 1 vote so this guy really came as a surprise to me. Woody had 8 number 1 votes, but this guy just kept going back and forth with him at the number 1 spot.
Like I said, I'm very surprised by this.
So without any further adieu, your number 1 football player in Clemson history as voted on by Tigernet is:

I actually was surprised at this. He just consistently stayed in everybody's 3-5.

Do many of you know that Clemson played football pre-TB?
Jul 28, 2009, 11:33 PM
|
|
How in the world some of these guys, Reggie Merriweather most obvious, got in before Chester McGlockton, Kenny Flowers, Joe Bostic, Fred Cone(his name is on the stadium ROH for a reason), Bennie Cunningham, Bubba Brown, Chris Gardocki, Donnell Woolford, Ed McDaniel, John Phillips, Terry Smith, Rodney Williams, John McMakin, Rob Bodine, Brentson Buckner, Dexter Davis, etc; is simply beyond me.
I am only 40, so my memory only goes back so far. I know that there are many others that pre-date me. I wish that some of you could have seen the 1980s. You would have been blown away.

On the flip side of this argument, I doubt that many (if any) of the voters ever actually saw McFadden play and he made the list.
