When we honor our '81 National Championship team in October at the UNC game, Danny Ford's name should be placed in the Ring of Honor. It's the right thing to do. Tiger Nation has a voice...I say let's use it to get this wrong righted!

He ran a dirty program. It won't happen (ever). Jim Phillips should be the next inductee. Ford gets to be an icon but not in the Ring of Honor.

The biggest infraction they could trace back to DF was paying for a kid to have his teeth fixed. He told them hell yes and I would do it again.

It's not as simple as saying that "he ran a dirty program", ok? Most of the violations occurred under Coach Pell. Am I saying Danny was totally innocent? No. I'm sure he turned a blind eye to things that were going on around the program, but in that day and age it was going on EVERYWHERE!! We just got caught. The fact is the man made Clemson a national powerhouse year after year, and that's something that not even Coach Howard can lay claim to. Putting Danny Ford in the Ring of Honor is just simply the right thing to do. 'Bama has their Bear....Bear Bryant set a standard of excellence there that they still strive to live up to. Danny set a standard of excellence HERE and we've ignored it and hid it under a rock due to political correctness and a bunch of BOT members with their head up their ####. He deserves it and any right-minded Clemson fan KNOWS it!

Phillips in the ring over Danny Ford! What's your definition of a dirty program? Were you even alive when Ford was coach? I have saved newspapers from the Atchley /Lennon era that you can read. I defy you to find anything case specific in these articles to directly indict Danny. I will cede to you that allegations happened on his watch, but he was found guilty of nothing. The other ACC schools were out to get him because he kept beating their butts and they couldn't take it anymore. It was their recourse.

around Clemson, while Danny Ford can't get into The Ring Of Honor.
In my opinion, the same mindset that keeps him out is the same one that has kept championships down. It's an act of stubborn arrogance.
Any IPTAY member can nominate somebody, even though I'm sure he's been nominated every time. The fact that he isn't already in speaks volumes about those on the selection committee.

I strongly suspect it is already in the plans. I like(d) Danny but his biggest reason for dismissal was not any infractions. It was the insubordination he displayed to the administration - I was there and witnessed it - could not believe my ears!
All that said, I believe he will be inducted on this anniversary. It time to forgive and forget - and the timing is just perfect for his recognition.

I won't disagree you, and even Danny himself has admitted he could've said what he had to say better. Mind you, he was working for a MAJOR duchebag in Max Lennon and Danny was never one to mince words. I hope you are right that the University has decided to induct him.
