Worse case scenario Spence doesn’t have the range Huegal has which was probably about 47 yds max anyway on fgs.

That’s kind of no mans land for most teams in cfb anyway so we should be alright going for it or taking a penalty and trying to let Spiers pin them deep. Especially with this defense.

On kickoffs. I would just pick the guy who can boom it the farthest. Surely Skalski, Spiers, or Spence could be somewhat effective on kickoffs

I'm sure Dabo will give whoever a chance to make some short to mid range FGs
But if they can't hit them got to go for it or like you said punt.
In a close game a missed FG could result in Bad
Things.
Don't want to keep trying and missing
Hopefully this won't be a big problem

they can at least get some hangtime on kickoffs if they cant put it in the endzone.

As for fgs, it does really come down to being able to hit them consistently up to 40 yards. If a drive stalls, Spence must able to nal a 37 yarder 90% of the time. If we can get that things will be fine and you just hold your breath for those longer kicks in big moments.

Then again, if the offense and defense keep on churning, this may not be much of an issue.

Spence didn't lose the kicker job because he can't kick it as far as heugel can. He lost the job because he is extremely inconsistent.
