This is way beyond sad. In some respects, it is comedy gold. They could have at least gotten the facts right, or faced the facts. That dump of a place has more than one bad spot/nasty spot including 5 points, the legislature, and the tailgate scene and now the vista! It is easy to say Sherman was right, but again, it is unclear if he purposely tried to burn the place. As an outsider, Columbia strikes me as a big Hooterville, very myopic and very misunderstanding of why those not from there just don't see the attraction or the value, even in the face of facts. Oh well, the capital has to be somewhere. It is more than sad, it is an embarrassment, other than Bessinger's BBQ.

Dang - I missed that 'capital' mistake. I knew all the capitals by age 10, and now at 67, I probably could barely name half of them. Now I gotta go back and learn 'em all. Ok - maybe not.
