Jackson Carman: Freshman stepped up at Boston College when number was called

The Tigers overcame many factors to get the win over a tough Boston College team in Chestnut Hill last Saturday. The injury of starting offensive lineman Mitch Hyatt was one.

Hyatt is a four-year starter for the Tigers that recently broke the record for snaps played in a career by any player at Clemson, so his absence was huge. Hyatt left the game with a stinger on his left side. Full Story »

Jack is going to be a great one, he's the recruit that I followed the most last year and I'll admit that I jumped up and screamed when he committed. Pretty bad for an old lady but I couldn't help myself. I noticed that he went on that team mission trip last summer where he revealed his talents of playing the piano and the ukulele.

I don't know, but isn't it amazing that we have so many guys on our team that has the very same character trait of being all in until it's time for their number to be called on, and then come in and play with a lot of knowledge that they have picked up getting them selves ready to be called on!!! This is the Clemson way that our coaches recruit, and it further proves that championships are won through just good recruiting of the right character people first!!!

Watching Jackson during the all star games last year and in spring practice he looked overweight and slow. The time In the weight room and dietary management is really paying off for this young man. He looks stronger and in much better shape now and will continue to develop over the next few years. Looking forward to watching him do just that! GO TIGERS!!
