Germany just hit the equivalent of the Orange Crush while down a man to break the tie with Sweden with time expiring and keep their hopes alive in the World Cup.

Sweden played like they were a man down. Sweden was playing for the tie and Germany went for the win. Germany is a man down and they take a defender off and put on an attacking midfielder. The opposite of what the vast majority of teams would do. It was an amazing goal to win it.
Many football coaches make the same mistake, play not to lose instead of play to win.

When Germany got red carded, Swedwn should have changed their approach and beem the aggressor. They didn't and it was a matter of time before Germany scored, even down a man.
Thats all on Sweden.. a missed call earlier in the match doesn't excuse their plan or exexution.
