get to participate in the punishment with all of the paying player scandals these days.

That should mean arrest & legal prosecution including charging the student as an adult if they are of age. Same punishment goes for their parents/family if they are proven to be involved. Misdemeanor and even felony charges depending on severity.

All scholarships or chances of one should be revoked and even eligible for restitution in some way.

All awards the player may have won should be fore-fitted.

If the player is eligible for a professional draft of any sort, there should be consequences that affect that draft status severely.

If the player is already a pro, there should be harsh fines that are relative to their level of pay.



The schools get affected, and now we're also going after the sponsorship apparel companies. Good, go for it.

But, the fact that there's another complicit party that gets affected little, if any, is absurd.
