Nick Saban comment at the ALA spring game/presser

Said that the team got complacent due to not being challenged all year and was exposed by Clemson as a result. Said they could've really benefited from a loss or being challenged as Clemson had to deal with injuries and QB's leaving and had to fight to get wins early on.

But I thought they were challenged more all year in the big boy SEC wasn't that the excuse?

Maybe they should play a Power 5 team rather than the Citadel in November.

SEC fans are delusional. Speaking of Saban tho im not sure what he means. If UGA wasn't a challenge in the SEC games I must have watched a different game.

I’d say they were challenged. In their last 3 games before the playoffs they were tied with the Citadel at the half, led Auburn by only a field goal at the half and trailed UGA in the SEC Championship by a TD at the half. They have no excuses nor any answers for getting pounded by the Tigers. They ended up in a reasonably close semifinal against OU so they definitely should have had their competitive edge fully sharpened. And nothing would have changed the Natty result.
