My Top 3 CFB teams would be:

1995 Nebraska

2001 Miami

2018 Clemson

In the modern football era, those 3 teams are a cut above. Look at the resumes of these 3 teams. You could make an argument to put those in any order.

And, I think when judging the "Best Team" you have to judge relative to the competition during that era of football. Nebraska, for example, wouldn't beat today's teams by 40, but you cannot punish them for that. The team was built to be successful during the 1990's. Health/nutrition, etc has changed tremendously since then.

I’m not old enough to remember the early 90s Nebraska teams

But that 2001 Miami team is absolutely crazy. Something like 17 first rounders on that roster. RB depth chart that includes Clinton Portis. Frank Gore. Willis McGahee

Disagree. I think you have to put the Clemson team as the best ever. The other teams tended to only play backups late late in games.

Can’t imagine what our stats would have been had we played starters the whole game. I’m still convinced that CBV was messing around with the coots and testing different different schemes and alignments. Along with the players reminiscing about it being some of their last game in the valley.
