Marriott Brand cancelling my rooms for National Champ 2020

Herd about this with Clemson area Marriott brands and now the same thing with another Marriott brand, Fairfield Inn and Suites Downtown New Orleans trying to move me to another hotel for the 2020 national Championship game. Reserved 2 rooms in January at low rate (I noticed 1 month later they had quadrupled the rate) and now they said they would move me about 30 miles away but I could still show up but would most likely be walked (hotel term when they move you the same day and they cover your transportation and find a room elsewhere) to another hotel a lot further away (said by then we may be up to 2 hours away somewhere). Very bad practice for Marriott brands coming out in the media right now. Not sure what I am going to do. I have talked with Marriott representatives and sent email complaints to other representatives.

I travel over a 100 days a year for my job. I stopped using Marriott a long time ago because their customer service is terrible. I only use the Hilton Family of hotels now. I have never had them cancel a reservation just to make a quick buck.

Do you recall if you made the reservation directly with Marriott, or via discount web site? Just curious, as most of the Texas A&M game complaints seemed via discount apps.
