I’d be a trillionaire right now. And I’d probably join iptay.

I use to have several hundred shares because I worked for Walmart in the early 80’s. Sam would give every employee a certain amount of stock with your paycheck plus you could be stock through the company at 15% discount. In the 80’s many Walmart managers retired as millionaires with their stock , pension and other Walmart benefits. Use to be a great place to work and a great place to shop.

I sold mine when I got married to buy a house in 88. I wish I still had my Walmart stock too.

Sam knew how to treat his employees aka associates.

We live in Arkansas so obviously a lot of Walmart love around here. I love the way he started the business. And, those managers/workers I guarantee cared how Walmart did. Now, they all just want to get off work and go home. I think giving that stock option was an important reason why they were so successful at first.

You had $2.2B to invest in Walmart in 1980?

Nov 20, 2018, 4:51 PM

yeah, yeah... this is why nobody likes me and I don't have any points.

1980: 0.20 (adjusted for splits)
2018: 94

I checked your math. It was close, but you forgot to carry

a 2. And when we're talking splits and exponentials, that ends up making a HUUUUGE difference!

Yeah, I got a little sloppy after looking up the historical quotes. A hundred million here and a hundred million there eventually adds up to some real money.

I'd settle for a few shares of Berkshire-Hathaway. You can join IPTAY for sixty bucks .... And be a real part of this great successful athletic dept! Scholarships win championships
