I don't understand why the Coots are so upset

they took a way better team than them to the brink but came up short. they should be cheering like no other. The wait till next year conversation should be alive and thriving today....but..you can't expect reason/rationale from that crowd.

This season was their last chance. They have missed LSU and Bama forever now and it all comes to an end this season. Next year they start the season with 4 losses Bama, Clemson, UGA, and A&M. Everyone else knows their ceiling is 6-7 wins, but next season they realize it also.

The vols are showing signs of life for the first time in years...FL might actually be decent.

Coots ability to have a good season is dependent on other teams being bad, their window is closing.

They had these games chalked up as wins before the season. The only ones they were worried about were us and UGA and since UGA was at home and early in the season they had a legitimate shot at them. They were basing their season this year on a 9 win season last year. Anything less than 10 regular season wins was going to be a disappointment. How could they not be better than last year? Now looking at their remaining schedule Chattanooga might be their only win left. I wouldn't discount Tennessee being able to beat them now.
