I don't know that this is the problem, FBI

But you allow players to get an agent, explore their options and then come back to school as long as it is done by a certain date. So . . they are running with an agent, what do you expect?

Per the article on the front page, the NCAA does not prohibit contact with an agent but accepting any benefit, monetary or gift, is prohibited.

You're also eliminating the aspect of players like Dennis Smith, Jr. who accepted a $73k loan prior to enrolling at NC State.

I know you are allowed contact with an agent, thus my post. But you don't see anything bad that can happen from it? I mean, seriously?? Kids are thinking I'm going pro . .agent does this or that. It's all small stuff anyway. You really expect the players to stay totally clean in this atmosphere?

I was just stating the rules, and I do agree with you, it's a dumb rule. If you're allowed contact with agents and you go to the combine of course agents will invite you to fancy dinners, and one would assume multiple agents would as they are vying for your services.

I would like to point out in your post you said "get an agent" which is completely different than contact with one, thus my post.

But ultimately we are in agreement that this rule basically sets the players up for failure unless they just say no to the agents up front.
