BC Touchdown

Sep 24, 2017, 7:00 AM

After BC scored their touchdown, they had the ball for 6 more possessions. 4 3andouts, an INT and last two plays of the game. 16 plays, 42 yards. Clemson on the other hand, after BC's touchdown, 21 plays, 225 yards, 4 touchdowns. Say what you want about the OL and KB and "as a whole this unit has questions", BC played us tough for 3 quarters but Clemson dominated in the end. If 34-7 is an ugly win, I'll take it over a last second 17-16 win over Louisiana Tech. If a 34-7 win is a "wake up call", so be it. Dabo said it in his presser, they have a lot to work on this week. You can bet they will.

Field position was a huge factor for 3 quarters

BCs punter was incredible yesterday. You can still put some blame on our offense (and defense to some extent) for failing to flip the field at any point until the 4th quarter, but our average starting field position was dreadful and that definitely had a big impact on our offense.

It wasn't the Def's fault for failing to flip the field

with the exception of maybe one or two drives where they allowed BC to move into Clemson territory, but even on those it was mostly due to BC starting those drives close to midfield.

No it really wasn't but we did have a few busts and missed tackled that allowed BC

To move the ball out between the 40s where their punter was knocking everything inside the 10.

Overall the defense was excellent again, but it was probably our worst tackling effort of the season.

It did. It's not an excuse, it's a fact. Tougher to get into any rhythm if you're starting inside your own 10 every drive. Dabo said it, there are things they have to work on this week. VT is going to be a test, but no bigger than at Louisville.
