Growing up the freshmen

With over 40 true freshmen and redshirt freshmen on the roster the Clemson coaching staff is having to walk a fine line in “growing up” the youngsters.

Eighteen minutes with Jeff Scott

The Clemson sports information department does a great job of making players and coaches available to the media for interview sessions during game week and after practice. However, it’s not every day that the offensive coordinator spends 18 minutes breaking down where the Tigers stand heading into game weeks, but Jeff Scott did just that Thursday evening.

Lawson leading by example
2015 could be the year for Shaq Lawson to prove himself as an elite NCAA player, but he is more concerned about the success of his team.

Jeff Scott and Wofford: I remember the boos
Jeff Scott remembers the boos. They echo in his memories every time he thinks about walking off the field against Wofford in 2011, the boos raining down on his head as he made his way into the locker room at halftime.

Secret Weapon
Freshman tight end Garrett Williams has wowed his teammates and coaches with his work ethic and athleticism during fall camp and will play this season. He might be Clemson's secret weapon in 2015.

Heightened Sense of Urgency
Brent Venables doesn’t see the departure of defensive tackle D.J. Reader as a challenge. He sees it as an opportunity for younger players to get a chance to play. Along with that comes a heightened sense of urgency as the season approaches.

Mitch Hyatt's biggest fans are his teammates
Eric Mac Lain took the long road to becoming a starter on the offensive line, but that doesn’t mean he is jealous of the shorter route Mitch Hyatt has taken. In fact, Mac Lain might be Hyatt’s biggest fan.
