Latest Bowl Projections for Clemson

Latest Bowl Projections for Clemson

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson fans are feeling pretty lethargic after watching their team get overpowered by Syracuse 27-24 last week. However, not everything is lost as Clemson still has time to recover to make it to their third straight college football playoff.

ESPN released their bowl projections for this week and both of their writers had Clemson losing in the Sugar Bowl vs. Alabama in the trilogy of Clemson-Alabama III.

CBSSports.com Jerry Palm also released his latest prediction of Clemson (4) vs. Alabama (1) in the Sugar Bowl while Sports Illustrated had a projection of Clemson vs. Wisconsin in the Capital One Orange Bowl.

Brett McMurphy also had a Clemson (4) vs. Alabama (1) projection in the Sugar Bowl.

"Despite Clemson’s loss at Syracuse, I still have the Tigers projected in my playoff field," McMurphy said. "I did drop them to the four-seed, so they would have to open with Alabama in the semifinals. It would be a third straight year meeting Alabama, but the first not in the final. A 12-1 record and ACC championship will earn the Tigers another playoff bid."
