ESPN lists Kelly Bryant as 2018 Heisman candidate |
Clemson is in the final four of college football for another chance for a coveted National Championship. Another title might not come to fruition but regardless, junior signal-caller Kelly Bryant should be a
candidate for a 2018 Heisman run according to ESPN.
"His numbers don’t inspire you? So what? What Bryant did in his first season starting -- not to mention replacing a legend in Deshaun Watson -- says it all," ESPN.com said. "Bryant led his team to the No. 1 ranking and threw for 2,678 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions in the process. He also ran for 646 yards and 11 scores. He has all the tools to be a star, if he isn’t already, and the experience and confidence he’s gaining now should lead to even better, possibly Heisman-caliber, numbers next season." ESPN.com's list of 2018 Heisman candidates included DE Nick Bosa, QB Kelly Bryant, QB Will Grier, QB Jalen Hurts, DT Ed Oliver, QB Jarrett Stidham, RB Jonathan Taylor, and QB Khalil Tate. In other Heisman trophy projections, SI.com listed Travis Etienne as a player 'ready to blow up' in 2018. "This freshman from Louisiana showed up in the summer and became Clemson’s best back," SI.com said. "After averaging 7.2 yards a carry splitting time with Tavien Feaster, Etienne should be even better following his first full offseason with the Tigers."
