It has been tough to say the least. I’ve been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that attacks my pancreas and triggers pancreatitis. Chrones disease coupled with diverticulitis, IBS, hiatal hernia, and colitis. These diseases have teamed up to destroy my pancreas. I have exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Which means my pancreas isn’t making enzymes to digest my food. The medication to treat this costs around $6000.00 a month cash price. My first copay was $400 and the rest are $1200.00 a month! If i don’t take the meds I don’t absorb nutrients. Affording $1200 a month is beyond our financial capabilities. I stay extremely tired all the time due to malabsorption of nutrients. The one positive is that I keep losing weight. They did two biopsies on my pancreas because they feared I had cancer. Thank God I do not. They were/are afraid that my pancreas will stop making insulin. Praise God it continues to produce insulin thus far.
I had to sell my season tickets and parking pass this year. I’m hoping to be able to return to the Valley next fall and celebrate everything Clemson with 100,000 clemson family members. I appreciate every one of you that replied to my original post about my pancreatic issues.
My pancreas flares up about once a month and hospitalizes me for a minimum of four days per trip. Those $50k hospital stays are also destroying our budget.
I’m staying positive and doing all I can to ensure success. I really appreciate the kind words, thoughts, and prayers from my Tiger family. You guys rock! Two of my degrees come from the UNC system. Although, I do not claim them. I am a Tiger through and through.

I'm very sorry to hear about these challenges but pray for complete healing and restoration along with peace that surpasses all understanding. I also pray for provisions to help you through the financial burdens. Hang in there, God is good!

First,I want to say, God Bless you my Tiger friend and prayers can move
mountains so keep the faith. Second, I think it is a shame that the drugs
you need is only affordable to the rich.

that's just Politicians buying votes.
What should be universally required for every person is "insurance" against catastrophic diseases and accidents. Insurance against basic healthcare and problems associated with poor living habits is doing nothing but enriching the insurance companies.

and you come out the other side stronger mentally, physically, and spiritually. Hard to understand why some people have it so much tougher than others. I have an autoimmune disease myself (RA) and it's caused a few issues but not near the problems yours has.
It is crazy that it seems a lot of healthcare options are only affordable to the rich. If you had a gofundme, I would definitely contribute as would a lot of other Tnetters; we're family here. Hope you can stay positive as it sounds like you're getting some good new with all the bad.
