"Working within the skill level of their secondary"....AKA, not much talent back there and have to try to scheme around it. JMHO.

If our secondary could have improved as much as our front 7 has this year things would have been different against SC.

Clemson needs to write that down.

Being physical is running fast and hitting. Have to do that very thing in this game against LSU as well as being smart about the play-calling. This theory also needs to carry over next year and the years to come.

Did anyone watch the joint interview?

I'm really curious what the heck Swinney said to Miles at the very end that caused such an odd look on his face as if he was trying to figure out, "should I be pi**ed or what?"

Or it could have been a slight dig Swinney covered as humor. Either way, you can see Miles thinking about it with a real odd expression on his face. Just an odd exchange.

I think I would've avoided it altogether, because I couldn't find a way to put it that nicely.

I took it as a subtle, back-handed comment.

Dabo may have taken a little jab at the Gamecocks, too. Did you pick up where he said LSU would be the most physical team we have played in a while? Guess that discounts the last team we played as being physical.

news conferences like this are worthless - what do you.....
Dec 18, 2012, 11:37 AM

expect each coach to say? They always toe the line and talk about how the other team's the greatest in the world, etc. You know what they're going to say before they say it.

If it wouldn't have had a back lash for Miles. He would have come right out and said to Dabo, shut tha F up. We are going to kick the sh!t out your boyzzz. Y'all have been threw in the ring with real Tigerss. That's the perception I get from Miles.

Would Miles say "I THINK our team respects them" about Bama?
Dec 18, 2012, 12:49 PM
|
|
If Miles were talking about Bama, or somebody that his team truly respected, I think he'd say something like, "We respect them," or "We have great respect for them". Maybe I'm reading too much into it but if he twice said "I think our team respects them," that gives me hope that they actually don't respect Clemson much.
That would be very good because I think Clemson's only chance is if Clemson plays an A+ game, on-fire, as an underdog with something to prove, and with a few "lucky" breaks, after a month of brutal conditioning & preparation, AND if LSU's players take Clemson lightly because hopefully they don't respect Clemson.
Go Clemson!

That's a coach that knows he is going to kick the #### out his opponent. No more. No less. He just can't say it.

There is a definite respect between the coaches. Miles

always voted us high in the coaches poll, and even higher than Swinney did at the end of the season. I am sure some of it goes back to the Terry Don connection, but I think coaches hear & know which ones run more solid programs, and which one's try and do things the right way.

You Clemson fans are something else. Everyone knows Miles is a good, genuine person, but for some reason everyone in this thread thinks he was "scheming" or something to #### off the Clemson fanbase.

I think he was probably trying to be nice but was too genuine to outright say that they definitely respect Clemson.

Les might be eccentric but I agree with what he said about the Chick-fi-la bowl having a better matchup than most of the BCS bowls. The BCS games (with the exception of Bama-ND & Oregon-KState) are a joke and the BCS committee deserves every pie they get thrown in heir faces.
