Our Starters are in the Low Country getting ready to begin play in the 23rd Battle @ Briar’s Creek . . . Details are posted in the reply below.

Our starters, as stated yesterday in another thread, have the ability to score and compete well . . . Last season they showed their inability to be consistent. Fingers crossed that the “course management” and the “space between their ears” portions of their games have improved.

We’ll know by next Tuesday at sunset if the Off Season’s Work has paid any dividends.

I’m not ready to jump ship on Coach Jordan Byrd’s Leadership abilities just yet. He is replacing “THE Man” . . . “A College Golf Coach HOF’er” . . . Coach Larry Penley.

It IS HARD to be “the man” that replaces “THE Man”!!! . . . as Alabama will soon find out in football.

Participants being played @ The Golf Club at Briar's Creek on Johns Island, SC on Monday Feb 5th through Tuesday Feb 6th.

Really disappointing to see Will play so bad. We know enough that he's much better than what he's showing. Sometimes it's tough on freshman in any sport. Moreso nowadays than before with nil etc. Girls... dare I say we've never had as many lady sports than we have now. Just saying. We know he can play.

in Statesboro, Ga . . .

After a disappointing Opening Round, Will Baker (-5 through 14 Holes) and Justin Burroughs (Even through 11 Holes) are playing much better.

Many of us knew Will had it in him and were shocked at his performance this morning. This is more what we hoped and expected out of Our newest member!!!

Good to see him settle into a solid round!!!

Will Baker fell off a bit . . . He finished the 2nd Round at 2 Under.

Kudos to Calahan Keever for shooting 7 Under in the afternoon round . . . He now sits @ +2 for the Tournament and is T-16th Place.

The “Good News”:
All TIGERS played better in the 2nd Round.

The “Bad News”:
We still have a long way to go to be competitive . . . even at the backup level.

Anxious to see how we perform tomorrow as we gain experience.

Yeah, I'll say. He fell asleep after 14. I guess the ladies get a 1/2 point for ties. It's a darn shame they couldn't follow the original format and started tomorrow. Jet lag is a real thing... we basically had to step off the plane and tee it up. But will post on your other thread. Been a whacky day for this tired lady. Feel 2 days behind. Lol
